Government Update - Sunday 10th May 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have all just seen the announcement about Y6 possibly returning to school in June. We are unable to answer any questions at the moment as we are waiting to receive more information from the government about what this means for our school - especially in how to keep children, staff, parents and wider families safe.
In the short term - nothing has changed and further information will be provided in the coming weeks.
LINKING UP WITH HOME
We hope that you are all keeping safe and well.
Please scroll down for weekly home learning grids and extra useful information.
Additional optional home learning activities are also posted in this section.
Teachers are ringing parents every fortnight - half the class one week and half the class the following week.
Below is a link to some lovely activities provided by Young Voices.
During a time when it is even more important to come together and sing, we will be bringing a little of that YV magic into your homes with our twice weekly #YVatHOME. Join in the online fun, music and movement sessions that children and parents can access and enjoy from your safe place. Click on the link below to access the content.
Here is another free resource for you to use with your families. This is a lovely collection of short stories, poems and drawings by children’s authors and illustrators. Enjoy sharing with your children.
Captain Tom Moore- Optional Tasks
You have most likely seen Captain Tom Moore's fantastic efforts to raise funds for charity in the run-up to his 100th birthday, during the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic. What an incredible achievement by an incredible man!
Below, you can find some optional resources linked to Captain Tom's amazing accomplishment. You could read the fact sheets and discuss them with your family. There is also a blank 'Picture News' newspaper template that you could use to create your own article.
If you do produce your own newspaper, be sure to email it to Picture News at email@example.com. They might just include your work in their published newspaper, which is sent to over 4500 schools around the UK! Good luck!
