Mr Wright has been working with all the children this week on education around balanced diets. The children have looked at different food groups and their importance. Each child has completed food diaries to highlight how balanced their diet is, completed a lunch time meal design and tasked with completing an activity diary over the holidays. All the children showed interest in the recent app available from Change4life, Food Smart which helps identifies healthy foods.

Year 5 have been having the support of Workington Gymnastics coach Miss B over the last few weeks. She has given the pupils excellent support and to date 7 of our students have signed up to the club at Workington Sports Centre. Bethan is also working towards representing GB at the deaf olympics. PE teacher Mr Wright has supported her quest at https://www.pledgesports.org/projects/deaflympics-2017/

Talented pupils designed ninja warrior course on Tues night.

Children from years 3, 4, 5 & 6 represented our school in a dodge ball competition. They were amazing and were runners up out of 13 teams.

Our amazing hockey team showed great skill and team work at the Allerdale Final. They missed going into the final by one goal but were the TOP GOAL SCORERS of the whole tournament. Well done, you were all amazing.

We are all very proud of our year 4 hockey team. They WON the Quicksticks Hockey Festival which was held at Lakes College. They will represent Workington in the Allerdale Final in February.

Charlotte's Web was the play performed for us when we had a visit from M&M Productions this week.

Our Athletic Champions who represented Allerdale at the County Indoor School Games and WON !!!!!!

As part of our celebrations for World Book Day we organised an ‘Extreme Reading’ competition within school. We asked both children and staff to be photographed reading their favourite book in the most unusual places. We had over 100 entries, all of them were fantastic! Our judges, Mr Milner and Mr Watson, had the very tricky job of choosing a winner from each class.

Everyone in school took part in a Pudsey Hunt, then enjoyed a cake made by our kitchen staff.

Some year 5 children took part in a Tag Rugby competition at Silloth.

£338-86 was raised at our MacMillan Coffee Afternoon.

Pupils, along with their family and friends, enjoyed homemade creams scones and chocolate brownies, made by our kitchen staff.

Children also got to show off our new library, beautiful corridor displays and their classrooms and work.
