At Seaton St Paul’s, we believe that learning a language is part of experiencing “life in all its fullness”. Through Spanish, children discover the joy of communicating in another language, the hope that comes from understanding and connecting with people beyond their own community, and the aspiration to become confident, curious learners who see possibilities beyond the world immediately around them.

Spanish is taught in every year group through engaging, practical topics including animals, food, family, school, hobbies, clothes, the weather, celebrations and the world around us. Children develop their skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, building on what they already know and gradually becoming more confident in using Spanish independently. Songs, games, stories, conversations and creative activities help make language learning enjoyable while giving children meaningful opportunities to use their new vocabulary.
